Why I started Sisothecary

I began making personal care products because I wanted to understand the ingredients my family and I were using and create products that suited our everyday needs. What started with my own dry skin grew into a love of researching ingredients, developing recipes, and making products by hand.

As I shared my creations with friends and family, their feedback helped me refine my recipes. Their encouragement also planted the idea of offering them to others. Over time, as I gained experience, confidence in my formulations, and the time to share them more widely, I started Sisothecary.

My interest in mineral sunscreen became another part of that journey. I wanted to understand the ingredients in the products I used regularly and learn more about their long-term effects, as well as their immediate benefits. I was drawn to simpler formulations, with ingredients chosen for a clear purpose and without additions I didn’t feel were needed. That curiosity led me to explore mineral tint formulations.

Through Sisothecary, I hope to share thoughtfully made, small-batch personal care—and explain what goes into each product, why the ingredients are included, and what the research supports.

Fewer steps with a clear purpose

My facial care philosophy is to keep the routine manageable: support hydration and comfort, choose ingredients for a clear purpose, and make room for the essentials. “Actives” is a common term for ingredients selected for a specific role in a formula, such as niacinamide for skin care. The collection offers options so you can choose what suits your skin, rather than feeling you need to layer every product.

A small circle, made with care

I formulate and prepare SISO products myself, in small quantities. I choose ingredients carefully and take the time to prepare each batch. Orders are accepted according to availability and preparation capacity.

A personal approach to pricing

My aim is to offer thoughtfully made personal care at approachable prices. Public pricing reflects ingredients, packaging and the time involved in preparing each small batch. Shipping is quoted separately, and the final total is confirmed before payment.

Clear information about each product

Every product page explains the ingredients, how to use the product, and what to keep in mind. I describe the formulas and the ingredient research without promising results that have not been established for the finished product.
